Á¦¸ñ Call for abstracts IEPEC June 2012 in Rome is Open Now!
Dear Readers,

The debate on energy and climate change is an increasingly important focus of policy for national, regional and local governments throughout Europe. International interest in evaluating the wide range of climate change policies is growing as fast as the investment that is being made in it—but is the investment being made in the most effective manner? Everyone recognizes that effective evaluation is crucial; however, approaches differ between nations and programmes.

After the success in 2010 of the first European International Energy Programme Evaluation Conference (IEPEC) in Paris, IEPEC will be holding a second conference on 12-14 June 2012 in Rome. IEPEC¡¯s aim is to bring together policymakers, researchers and professional evaluators to share their experience and discuss methods for evaluation of energy efficiency, renewable energy and other energy related policies and programmes.

We welcome papers on all aspects of evaluation from evaluators and policy makers; the full list of topics is at www.iepec.org. We¡¯re keen to stimulate debate about topical issues including:

- How to generate robust compelling evidence that convinces other stakeholders?
- Too many energy efficiency programs just don¡¯t work as well as expected. Why is this and how can we improve their effectiveness?
- Government budgets are under massive pressure: how can we perform evaluation for less and how can program managers generate evidence of the value for money provided by their program?

IEPEC is the one and only peer reviewed paper conference dedicated exclusively to evaluation issues. You can submit an abstract for the conference until November 11th, 2011. If selected, your paper will be peer reviewed and, following presentation at the conference, ultimately published and posted on the IEPEC website.
